With the award ceremony of the AE – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Endoprothetik an exciting and successful year 2018 ends for us!
Prof. Dr. Gollwitzer’s video “The minimally invasive AMIS technique for the implantation of hip prostheses” won the first prize for audiovisual contributions in the field of endoprosthetics!
In addition to the thematic focus on endoprosthetics, the AE attaches particular importance to the suitability of the film for training and further education. Prof. Dr. Gollwitzer’s contribution will in future be used within the framework of the AE’s continuing education concept.
The motivation for the preparation of the contribution is based on the fact that surgical techniques in particular can only be represented and understood to a limited extent in books and print contributions.
Doctors working in orthopaedics and accident surgery can now use the article to obtain a detailed picture of the surgical technique in order to better classify the access and the surgical technique. Hip surgeons who start with the AMIS technique can follow it step by step and users of the AMIS technique can also refine individual surgical steps.
The combination of anatomical representations with professionally filmed close-ups allows an excellent representation of the surgical steps, which are clearly comprehensible for the viewer.
